Pupil Premium 2018/19
The Pupil Premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers.
The Pupil Premium funding is allocated to schools based on the number of children who are, or have recently been, in receipt of Free School Meals. It is for schools to decide how the Pupil Premium is spent, since schools are best placed to assess what additional provision should be made for the individual pupils within their responsibility.
At St Elizabeth’s we have a relatively small number of pupils who are eligible for Pupil Premium, currently 7% of the school. We have high aspirations for all children and we use the Pupil Premium funding to meet individual learning needs and ensure that disadvantaged children make good progress throughout the school. The funding is also used to provide a play therapist to work with children and to support families’ access to extra-curricular clubs, wrap around care, as well as school educational visits and residential visits.
If you think that your child may be eligible for Free School Meals please contact the school office who will be happy to advise you.
