Governors’ Biographies

Dr Oona Stannard, Chair of Governors

Appointed in 2014, Dr Oona Stannard is the Chair of Governors at St Elizabeth’s and serves on all the Committees of the Governing Body. Dr Stannard’s professional work is in leadership and education. Currently, Dr Stannard works for the Education Commission of the Archdiocese, as well as undertakes consultancy throughout the field of education.

Previously, Dr Stannard’s career includes ten years as a member of Her Majesty’s Inspectors of Schools (HMI) and a similar period as Director and Chief Executive of the Catholic Education Service for England and Wales. During this time, Dr Stannard gained considerable experience within the political arena and with policy development. Dr Stannard also has acted as Vice Chair and Acting Chair of the Board of what is now St Mary’s University, Twickenham. Dr Stannard is a parishioner at Our Lady of Loreto and St Winefride’s in Kew.

Mrs Marian Conran, Vice-Chair of Governors

Appointed in 2015, Marian Conran is a Foundation Governor at St Elizabeth’s.  Marian became Vice-Chair of Governors in 2018, and is Chair of the Staffing, Pay and Performance Committee and Chair of the Standards, Pupil Performance and Curriculum Committee of the Governing Body.  Marian is also the link governor for RE and Catholic Ethos and Special Education Needs (SEN). Marian is a full time secondary school teacher and Head of English at The Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls. Marian has both a PGCE from the Institute of Education and a MA in Education from Brunel University. Marian is a mother and previously had one child at St Elizabeth’s. During this time Marian was an active PTA member.

Mrs Jenny Evans, Foundation Governor

Appointed in 2015, Jenny Evans is a Foundation Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is on the Admissions and the Finance, Premises and Health & Safety (incl Safeguarding) Committees of the Governing Body. Jenny is also the link governor for Science. Jenny is a Chartered Accountant and works for an investment bank. Jenny is a mother and has three children; one child is currently at St Elizabeth’s and two children are currently at secondary school who previously attended St Elizabeth’s.

 

Mrs Julie Fahey, Foundation Governor

Appointed in 2001, Julie Fahey is a Foundation Governor at St Elizabeth’s.  Julie is Chair of the Admissions Committee and a member of the Staffing, Pay and Performance Committee of the Governing Body. Julie is also the link governor for History and Geography. Julie is a Deputy Headteacher at a larger multi ethnic secondary school in Hounslow where she also teaches History. Julie is a mother and has three children who all attended St Elizabeth’s. Julie is a parishioner at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Ham.

 

Mr Paul Webb, Foundation Governor

Appointed in 2010, Paul Webb is a Foundation Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is Chair of the Finance, Premises and Health & Safety (incl Safeguarding) Committee of the Governing Body. Paul is also the link governor for Mathematics, and the Nominated School Governor for Safeguarding and Child Protection. Paul has three children who all attended St Elizabeth’s.  Paul is a London based barrister and is a parishioner at St Elizabeth of Portugal in Richmond.

 

 

Mr Francis Campbell, Foundation Governor

Appointed in 2015, Francis Campbell is a Foundation Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is on the Standards, Pupil Performance and Curriculum Committee of the Governing Body. Since 1997 Francis has been as a member of HM Diplomatic Service. Postings covered the European Union, the United Nations Security Council in New York, Italy and at the FCO in London. Between 1999 and 2003, Francis served on the staff of the then Prime Minister Tony Blair, first as a Policy Adviser in the No 10 Policy Unit and then as a Private Secretary for Foreign Affairs. Francis also served on secondment with Amnesty International as the Senior Director of Policy. Between 2005 and 2011 Francis served as Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Holy See and served as Deputy High Commissioner in Pakistan, based in Karachi between 2011 and 2013. Francis’ most recent appointment was the Head of the Policy Unit in the FCO and Director of Innovation at UKTI.

In 2014 Francis was appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of St Mary’s University, Twickenham, London. Francis has a BA in Political Science and Scholastic Philosophy, and a MA in European Integration and International Relations.

Cllr Thomas O’Malley, Foundation Governor

thomas-omalleyAppointed in 2010, Cllr Thomas O’Malley is a Foundation Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is on the Admissions Committee of the Governing Body. Cllr Thomas O’Malley is a local councillor in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and is a governor for St Elizabeth’s as well as one other Catholic state school. He also serves the community as trustee of a local community centre and a charity supporting schools in rural South Africa.

Cllr Thomas O’Malley previously worked with John Major and William Hague for the Conservative Party, and now works in the West End helping pension and investment funds focus on environment, social and governance issues.

Mrs Jane Hines, Headteacher

Appointed in 2014, Jane Hines is the Headteacher Governor at St Elizabeth’s and serves on all the Committees of the Governing Body. Previously, Jane was Deputy Headteacher at the school for ten years before being appointed Headteacher and attended Governing Body meetings ex officio during this time. Jane has also held the position of elected staff governor. Jane is a mother and has two children who both attended St Elizabeth’s.

 

 


Mrs Victoria Turrent, Parent Governor

Elected in 2015, Victoria Turrent is a Parent Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is on the Finance, Premises and Health & Safety (incl Safeguarding) Committee of the Governing Body.  Victoria is also the link governor for English and the Arts, and the Vice-Nominated School Governor for Safeguarding and Child Protection. Victoria’s career originates in international development, including researching and advising on education policy and finance for INGOs, think-tanks and governments. Victoria has held positions at Save the Children and the Commonwealth Education Fund. Most recently Victoria has completed a doctorate in Education and Development Economics at UCL Institute of Education where she was an academic tutor. Victoria is a mother and has three children; one child is currently at St Elizabeth’s.

Mrs Nadia Galindo Slim, Parent Governor

Elected in 2015, Nadia Galindo Slim is a Parent Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is on the Admissions Committee of the Governing Body.  Nadia has also been appointed the role of Travel Champion for the school. Recently, Nadia was Chairperson for St Elizabeth’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for a two year term, and thereafter continues to be an active member of the PTA. Since 2006, Nadia has worked as parish secretary at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, East Sheen, and also serves as an Altar Servers Co-ordinator. Nadia is a Certified Accountant with experience in producing budgets and forecasts, and has a Masters Degree in Management Science and Operational Research. Nadia is a mother and has two children currently at St Elizabeth’s.

Mrs Hannah Parker, Staff Governor

Elected in 2013, Hannah Parker is a Staff Governor at St Elizabeth’s and is on the Finance, Premises and Health & Safety (incl Safeguarding) and the Standards, Pupil Performance and Curriculum Committees of the Governing Body. Hannah is School Librarian and organises many events for the children throughout the course of the school year to promote literacy and reading for enjoyment. Hannah has a legal and editorial career background. Hannah is a mother and has three children; two children are currently at St Elizabeth’s and one child is currently at secondary school who previously attended St Elizabeth’s.

Mrs Kerry Diver, Ex Officio

Mrs. Kerry Diver Deputy Headteacher and Reception TJ Class Teacher

Appointed in 2014, Kerry Diver is the Deputy Headteacher at St Elizabeth’s and attends Governing Body meetings ex officio. Kerry is on the Standards, Pupil Performance and Curriculum Committee of the Governing Body. Previously, Kerry was Key Stage 1 Co-ordinator and Early Years Foundation Stage Co-ordinator at the school for thirteen years before being appointed Deputy Headteacher. Kerry is a mother and has three children; one child is currently at St Elizabeth’s and two children are currently at secondary school who previously attended St Elizabeth’s.
