Our Y4 pupils are on their way back from Sayers Croft after a truly fantastic 3 days of adventure and new experiences! The children really enjoyed all the outdoor activities and learnt new skills including orienteering, map reading and team working. Well done to all the children for embracing 2 nights away from home and discovering new independence. Thank you to our St Elizabeth’s staff team of Mrs Bolger, Miss Doherty, Mrs Meade and Mrs Diver for accompanying our Y4 children on this trip. We are looking forward to seeing the coach pull up in the playground and welcoming the children back home – although a little more muddy and tired than when they left!
On Monday, our Y6 children had an amazing opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament. Pupils were taken on a guided tour and joined in their very own Q&A session with Mr Zac Goldsmith, MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston. Mr Goldsmith said “I was enormously impressed by the questions and am thrilled to hear the children enjoyed their day”.
On Wednesday, Y5 prepared a thoughtful assembly on Freedom and Responsibility. Thank you to all the children who spoke so well and for sharing some important messages with us.
Well done to our team of Y4 entrepreneurs who have used their own initiative to come up with an enterprise project that has raised £85 that will go towards the purchase of a digital timer for our new fitness area. Their efforts are truly commendable.
As we mention our new fitness area, we are very excited to announce that the new fitness equipment is on its way! The children have been eagerly anticipating their new playground area and we are sure that they will enjoy and benefit enormously from this newly created fitness zone. We cannot thank enough the tremendous fund raising effort of our PTA Cyclists who cycled very hard for this equipment!
Our PTA recently submitted an application for a 2019 Bank of England Court Award. These are monetary awards that are given to causes that show great commitment within a local community. We are delighted to say that St Elizabeth’s PTA has been awarded a Court Award and will receive funds of £1,000. Congratulations and sincere thanks to Annette, our PTA Chair, for making this happen.
Finally, we wish Ms Thompson all the very best as she prepares to go on maternity leave from today. We look forward to hearing the exciting news when her baby arrives in the Spring.
