Yet again, our annual ‘Health & Safety Week’ has been a success! The children have thoroughly enjoyed a programme of interactive and engaging learning opportunities on a range of subjects including Online Safety, Road Safety, Dental Health and Healthy Eating, as well as training from the London Borough of Richmond on safe walking, scooter safety and cycling proficiency. The children always respond very well to external visitors. We thank Waitrose, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Smart Brothers, Mr Donoghue and Mr Bruns, our community police offices, and Mr Cowley, Achieving for Children Online Safety Officer, for coming to school.
The E-Safety Parents’ Talk with Mr Cowley on Thursday was very well attended. We will continue to share information and updates on this matter as we receive them from the Local Authority as well as other organisations, as we support parents to raise their awareness on how to keep their child safe online and the appropriate use of devices. Next week, we will share with you some of the materials for parents who were not able to attend the talk.
Well done to the whole school – children and staff included – for so energetically taking part in our ‘Mile a Day’ challenge. We have seen a lot of enthusiastic runners! Thank you sincerely to parents that have sent in sponsorship donations that will go towards the Digital Timer that we will purchase for our new fitness area in the Junior playground (Adventure Playground). Our Y6 charity monitors are counting the sponsorships received, so if you do intend to send in a donation, we would be very grateful to receive these on Monday. Thank you.
On Wednesday, Y2K prepared a lovely assembly about The Bible – thank you to all the children who spoke so well.
Looking ahead to next week.

Please check your diary and see if you can make the PTA Quiz Night on Thursday 7th February at 7:30 p.m. You do not need to come as a team – either speak to your class rep about joining a team or just turn up on the night. Food will be served and it is always a very enjoyable evening and a chance to test your general knowledge! We hope to see you there.
It seems an appropriate time, during Health and Safety Week, when we have been teaching the children about safe walking and cycling in our local area, to remind all parents to please park considerately in the streets around school. We have had a number of reports since Christmas from our own parent body about dangerous parking and double parking. Please help us to set the example to children by parking safely or seeking alternatives means of getting to school.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
