We hope you all enjoyed the Easter holiday and the glorious weather we had! The children have returned to school well rested and excited for the summer term which has many school events to enjoy.
Yesterday evening our Junior Choir sang at the ‘Good News’ Concert at St Richard Reynolds School. Once again our talented choir rose to the occasion and sang delightfully.
We are getting ready for a busy term ahead and the summer termly dates will be sent out shortly. In the meantime, please read below for notifications of upcoming events in the next few weeks.
Next Tuesday 30th April, we have our Easter Mass prepared by Y4 with Fr Francis Lynch from St Winefride’s parish. Parents are very welcome to join us.
School clubs start from Monday next week, 29th April, and Y3D and Y4 will have their first swimming lesson on Thursday 2nd May.
Please be reminded that school will not be open next Friday 3rd May as it is a staff RE training day for all the Richmond primary schools. This is followed by a Bank Holiday on Monday 6th May, so the children return to school on Tuesday 7th May. On this day we will wave off our Y5 pupils for their School Journey to the Isle of Wight. Also that week, on Wednesday 8th May, Y3D will be leading us in assembly and parents are very welcome.
The time is coming!! Please show your support to our ‘Richmond to Brussels 2019’ Cyclists!
Our ‘Richmond to Brussels’ cyclists have been training extremely hard ready for their sponsored cycle ride taking place on Friday 17th May to Sunday 19th May. The target this year is to raise funds for our Infant Playground with the installation of new play equipment including a sports wall and a tugboat. This equipment will really help to transform the Infant playground to an active and fun environment for the children – in a similar way that our 2018 cyclists have enabled us to create a new fitness area in our Junior playground. Please do show your support by sponsoring our dedicated cyclists. Any donation, big or small, will be very gratefully received and go directly towards their fundraising target, and of course will help to motivate our 22 riders with this amazing 210 mile challenge! Please make your donation via the PTA Sponsored Cycle JustGiving webpage – thank you: https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/r2b
(A note when making a donation on the JustGiving page – after you have clicked on the ‘Donate’ button, you are taken through to the ‘Donation Amount’ page. After you have selected your donation amount, please be aware that JustGiving has automatically pre-selected a 10% contribution for themselves to receive as an organisation. This JustGiving percentage is not Gift Aid related and is not part of the monies received by the PTA. If you wish to opt out of this contribution to JustGiving, select ‘Other’ in the drop down menu and ensure that zero is entered in the amount field).
Also, corporate sponsorship makes a real difference to any fund raising target. If you are aware of any possible sponsorship opportunities to support this year’s cycling event, please contact Tom Andrews on email@example.com. More information will follow in coming weeks.
Finally, we wish Miss Kilpatrick the very best of luck as, for the second time, she is taking part in the London Marathon this Sunday. We look forward to congratulating Miss Kilpatrick and seeing her marathon medal in school next week.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
