Our School Quiz Night was such a fun evening! All teams played with great competitive spirit as parents, staff and friends tried to answer as many questions as possible. Some say that the questions set by the children were the best! Well done to our team of parents from Reception – our Quiz Night winners for 2019! Thank you to our Y1 Class Reps and parent helpers for making the evening a real success.
And it has been a busy week also for our Y1 pupils. On Tuesday, Y1 went on their Spring term educational visit to the Museum of Richmond where they participated in a workshop on the Victorians. On Wednesday, Y1 prepared a lovely assembly on ‘Special People’, and the children spoke beautifully.
Our sports calendar is busy most weeks if not every week of the term! In some of our Weekly Updates, we share with you just a few of our sporting highlights and tournaments we have competed in. This week, our Basketball teams played very well with great energy and accuracy at tournaments arranged by Richmond Knights. Well done to all our players!
Looking ahead to next week.
Our Y4 children are getting very excited about their first school journey next week to Sayers Croft in the Surrey Hills. Sayers Croft provides an amazing outdoor learning opportunity for children, with activities including orienteering, shelter building, a river study and a night walk. Our Y4 classes have been visiting Sayers Croft, which served as a WW2 evacuation centre for London school children, for over 25 years and we are sure that the children will enjoy new experiences and adventures. We will wave the children off at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday and we look forward to hearing all their stories when they come home on Friday at 3:15 p.m.
Our Y6 classes have a fantastic opportunity on Monday, 11th February, to visit the Houses of Parliament. This educational visit has been arranged through Zac Goldsmith, MP for Richmond Park and North Kingston as part of a Parliamentary Education Service to schools. Pupils will be taken on a guided tour around the Houses of Parliament followed by a Q&A session with Mr Goldsmith himself! The children have been busy preparing their questions!

A Parentmail has been sent informing you of essential works to repair a section of the wall on Queen’s Road starting on Monday 11th February. The works are estimated to last for a maximum of 6 weeks. During this time, for drop off and collection times only, there will be full pavement access which will allow children and parents to walk to and from the school gates. Within the school grounds there will be no access at any time to the area behind the astro-turf to the scooter pod. If your child brings a scooter into school, please store their scooter in the bike shed. We appreciate your patience during this time.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
