Weekly Update 13th June 2025
Read our newsletter to find out what has been happening in school this week and upcoming events ...
Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been a lovely sunny week in school and this warm weather looks set to continue over the weekend and into next week. Please make sure that your child has a sunhat in school every day next week and has sunscreen applied every morning.
Please note that on Friday 20th June, the school will be closed for staff training. While the children are not in school, St Elizabeth’s will be hosting the annual Richmond Catholic Primary Schools’ RE training day when six local Catholic schools will be joining us for the day to focus on children’s prayer and liturgy. Due to this staff training, NSSport will be running their inset provision at another local school; please check their website for more information.

Y6 Retreat Day
On Wednesday our Y6 children went to St Elizabeth’s Church for a retreat day. This was an opportunity for prayer, reflection and renewal ahead of them making their next step to secondary school. We would like to thank Georgia from St Elizabeth’s Church for leading such an inspirational day. You can read a full account of the Y6 retreat in the RE newsletter.
Sports Update from Mr Sagar and Mrs Knowles
Y5 Football
This week saw two football fixtures for the Y5 boys team. On Monday, they played a friendly against Holy Trinity Primary School. This was a great opportunity for the boys to gain match experience and try playing in different positions. The boys worked well as a team and there were good individual performances, including a very impressive double save from Sherwood in goal and some precise passing from Oliver and Sebastian in midfield. On Wednesday, a squad took part in a festival organised by Thomson House School. The boys played 6 matches and showed excellent teamwork and perseverance throughout the afternoon. The playing highlight was a fantastic last-minute goal scored by Teddy after a pinpoint pass from Jack. Well done to everyone who represented the school this week!
Sports Assembly
On Monday 23rd June the Sports Committee will be launching St Elizabeth's celebration of National Schools Sports Week. This will be a week of committee led lunch time activities. During the launch assembly we would like to celebrate the sports that children take part in outside of school. We are inviting you to send in sporting photos or certificates of achievement to feature on the hall screen during assembly. Please send photographs and scans of certificates by email to the school admin address marked for the attention of Mr Sagar, by Thursday 19th June.
