Weekly Update 12th December 2025

Read our newsletter to find out what has been happening in school this week and upcoming events ...

Dear Parents and Carers,

Today’s Weekly Update will be shorter than normal as we are preparing a bumper Christmas edition for next week with photographs of our Christmas activities in school.

We have had a wonderful week in school with two beautiful Advent productions, the KS2 Advent Service and the KS1 Nativity.  It was lovely to see so many of you joining us for these.  The children in all classes have played their part in sharing the story of Jesus’s birth at Christmas and thank you very much for your generous donations to our Advent charity, CAFOD World Gifts.

This week in school

Mini-Vinnies deliver Christmas cards to Greville House Care Home

Our Mini-Vinnies have spread a little Christmas cheer by delivering hand-made Christmas cards to the residents of Greville House yesterday.

Sports Update from Mr Sagar and Mrs Knowles

On Tuesday, Y4 signed off the term with an Inter-house Football Tournament. The standard of football was high and all the teams worked well together. With two wins and a draw, St Josephine Bakhita narrowly won the tournament with St Teresa of Calcutta runners up. Well done to Y4 for a good-spirited tournament!

Y6 pupils attend the Diocesan Advent Service

Our Y6 pupils made a pilgrimage to St George’s Cathedral this week to take part in the Diocesan Schools’ Advent Service.  They also took the opportunity to go through the ‘holy door’ which is only open for pilgrims to walk through during a Jubilee Year.  Entering the church through the holy door is symbolic of a pilgrim’s choice to follow Jesus and links to Chapter 10 of St John’s Gospel which says: “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture.”

Information for Parents

Spring Term 2026 Extra-Curricular Clubs Schedule

We will be sharing the Spring term clubs schedule on Monday 15th December at 2pm so that parents can start to plan and sign up to clubs before the new term begins in January.  Registrations for school and external clubs will not be accepted before this time, as this will ensure that all clubs operate under the same ‘first come first serve’ basis.

St Elizabeth’s 2025 Tea Towel – The Perfect Christmas Gift!

This year’s St Elizabeth’s tea towel is part of the Year 6 fundraiser and celebrates the Jubilee Year 2025 Pilgrims of Hope.  What makes it truly special is that the children have hand-drawn their own portraits, making each tea towel a unique keepsake full of creativity and school spirit.

These tea towels make ideal Christmas gifts for family and friends – a wonderful way to support our Year 6 pupils while celebrating this special year.
