Dear Parents and Carers,
We have all enjoyed the sunshine this week and look forward to it continuing into next week!
We have a very busy term ahead and the calendar of events has been emailed to you today. Please do also read to the end of the newsletter each week to see any events that have been added.
This week in school
Easter Mass
Our Mass yesterday was a joyful celebration of the Good News of Easter. Thank you to Y6 for preparing the prayers and readings and to Fr Peter for celebrating Mass for us. We will be continuing to celebrate Easter until Pentecost when we return to Ordinary Time. Our next school Mass will be for Ascension Day on 14th May.
Earth Day
On Wednesday this week, our Eco-Warriors told the whole school about Earth Day. This is a day, dedicated to caring for our world and the girls explained what children can do at school and at home to reduce, reuse and recycle.
Bo, our school dog
Bo, our school dog had her first visit to school today. She loved meeting all of the KS2 children as they came in from lunchtime play. She also spent some time with a group of children in our Inclusion Room. Bo will normally come into school after lunch on a Friday and next week we will introduce the KS1 children to her.
Next week in school
Deacon Quentin visiting KS2 classes
We are delighted that Deacon Quentin from St Elizabeth’s Parish will be coming into school on Wednesday 29th April to talk to our KS2 classes about vocation and mission. Deacon Quentin joined our staff meeting last week and led us in a reflection on the Mass and so we know that these upcoming sessions will be very valuable for the children.
Easter Project Exhibition
On Wednesday 29th April at 3:15pm there will be an exhibition in the school hall of the Easter projects that the children created over the holidays. We are so impressed by the thought and creativity shown by all those who took part. Please do come along after pick up on Wednesday to take a look.
Parents’ Rosary in May
Throughout the whole of May, parents are invited to use our School Chapel for prayer from 9 to 9:20am each morning. Our School Chaplains are also hoping to lead some Rosary prayer sessions for parents on some days and we will write out to let you know these dates. If you would like to use the School Chapel for prayer during May, please come to the office to sign in.
Upcoming Dates
PTA Fundraising Cycle Ride to Roubaix
It is only two weeks until our group of PTA cyclists set off on their ride to Roubaix in France. This is the tenth annual St Elizabeth’s cycle. Some parents have cycled since the beginning and are still continuing even after their children have left us and some are first-timers this year. We are immensely thankful to all of them for their commitment to our school and to the money they have raised. Please do visit their JustGiving page to sponsor them. https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/richmondtoroubaix2026
Please do also join us as we wave them on their way on Friday 8th May – more details to follow.
Save the date! Sunday 17th May 2026
The final plans are being made for this year’s May Fair which promises to be a fabulous, fun-filled day. Please look out for the requests for help with donations over the coming weeks. If you would like to get involved please contact the PTA by email at: stelizabethsrichmondpta@gmail.com
