Read our newsletter to find out what has been happening in school this week and upcoming events ...
Dear Parents and Carers,
We hope that you enjoyed a relaxing half-term break with your family. This school year is flying by and it is hard to believe that we are now in our last half term. We have many visits, liturgies and events planned for June and July so please do make a note of the upcoming dates at the end of this newsletter.
This week in school
Y3 Visit to Richmond Museum
On Wednesday, Y3 had a wonderful time at Richmond Museum participating in a Bronze Age murder mystery. They learnt about the work of archaeologists, including how to excavate and record finds carefully, and then use these finds to predict how a Bronze Age person might have died. They found out about a Bronze Age burial in Richmond Park and discovered the difference between a replica and a fake artefact.
Reception Visit to Bocketts Farm
Our Reception class had a fantastic day at Bocketts Farm yesterday. They visited the farm as part of their topic on Growing and Life Cycles. They thoroughly enjoyed feeding and stroking the animals and were particularly excited to see a baby goat that had only just been born. The tractor ride and the pig racing, as always, were highlights of the day!
The ducklings have hatched!
There was great excitement in school this week as our five beautiful ducklings hatched. The Reception and Y1 children are taking great care of them and are amazed at the speed at which they are growing. We are all looking forward to their first splash about in water next week!
Borough Sports Athletics Tournament
On Wednesday, a team of Y6 athletes took part in Borough Sports at the Sir Mo Farah running track at St Mary's University. They all competed in a long distance run, a sprint, a standing long jump and a vortex throw, and the event culminated in a relay involving the whole team. The children had a great day out and enjoyed representing our school against all the other primary schools in the borough. Well done to all who took part!
Next week in school
Peddle My Wheels Bike Market
Do you have an old bike at home that you no longer need? Are you looking to buy a reasonably priced larger bike for your child?
On Thursday 12th June there will be a second hand bike market at school run by Peddle My Wheels. You can bring your old bikes to school to be sold in the morning and in the afternoon there will be a sale of refurbished bikes where you can pick up a second hand bike in good condition for a bargain price. Proceeds from all the bikes sold will go towards the school. Please leave your bike on the grassy area near to the Queen’s Road entrance at school drop off time on Thursday morning. The bike sale will run from 3:15pm to 4:15pm.

Please note that the date of the PTA Summer BBQ has moved to Friday 4th July. This is the same day as our school feast day, St Elizabeth’s Day, so a great way to continue the celebrations.

All the children, including sibling groups, had their photographs taken today. Further details will be sent next week on how to order your child’s photograph.
