Dear Parents and Carers,

Next week in school
Y2 Scooter Training – Thursday 22nd January
On Thursday Y2 children will be having Scooter training led by the Richmond Safety Team. This is a really important session that helps children to learn how to ride a scooter safely.
Details have been sent home. Please make sure that your child comes into school with their scooter and helmet if they have them and they wear their PE kits. Scooters should be left in the scooter stands on the KS1 playground.
This is a good opportunity to remind all parents that in order to keep everyone safe, children should not scoot or cycle on the school site.
Piano Concert – Friday 23rd January at 3:30pm
There will be a piano concert at 3:30pm on Friday 23rd January in the school hall. All children who can play a piece on the piano are welcome to perform and parents and families are invited to attend. The children just need to let Mrs FitzGerald know that they would like to perform and the name of the piece they intend to play.
Information for Parents
Keeping children safe online
We would like to share information we have received this week about keeping your child safe while playing the game Roblox. Roblox is a game that is particularly popular with children aged between 8 and 12 years old. We do not encourage gaming for primary age children but we are aware that some of our older children may play this game.
We recommend that parents:
- Talk to children openly about their use of technology and share any worries.
- Monitor children’s chats in games or preferably disable this facility.
- Put strict limits on time spent on games – we would recommend that school nights are technology free unless necessary for homework only.
- Never allow children to have devices of any kind in their bedrooms.
- Ensure that safety controls and age-appropriate settings are active.
The following links are important in making sure that children’s devices have the correct filters and settings.

easyfundraising
If you haven’t yet downloaded the easyfundraising App please do consider doing this. Over the past few years the school has received over £8,000 from easyfundraising which costs the school and our parents absolutely nothing. Your donations can be anonymous and please do spread this widely amongst your family and friends.
