Dear Parents and Carers,
Happy Easter!
It has been lovely to see the children return to school this week after the Easter holiday. We hope that you all enjoyed a restful break with your families.
We have a busy summer term ahead with many educational visits, liturgies and performances planned. The calendar of events for the term and the termly topic information for parents will be sent out to you next week. We look forward to welcoming you into school over the course of the term.
Remembering Pope Francis
We were all saddened to learn of the death of Pope Francis this week. In our assembly on Tuesday, we reflected on and gave thanks for Pope Francis’s compassion, his humility, his love for the poor and marginalised and his care for the world.
We also listened to words from Pope Francis’s final message in which he shared the hope and joy of Easter:
“Christ is risen!
These words capture the whole meaning of our existence,
for we were not made for death but for life.
Easter is the celebration of life!
God created us for life and wants the human family to rise again!
In his eyes, every life is precious!”
The CAFOD website has resources that you may wish to share with your families at home at this time. https://cafod.org.uk/education/education-resources/remembering-pope-francis-in-schools

Easter Mass
We would like to thank Father Peter for celebrating our Easter Mass with us yesterday and our Y6 children for preparing the readings and prayers. Father Peter encouraged us all to say ‘Alleluia’ with feeling as we rejoice in the good news of Jesus’ resurrection at Easter.
Information for parents
It is due to be warm and sunny next week. The children will need to wear sunhats at playtimes and sunscreen should be applied before the school day. We ask that sunhats do not have slogans or obvious branding on them. School caps are available to buy from the school office.
