Weekly Update 7th July 2023

Read our newsletter to find out what has been happening in school this week and upcoming events ...

Dear Parents and Carers,

This week we celebrated St Elizabeth’s Feast Day. We are proud to have such a wonderful role model as our school patron saint; St Elizabeth was a courageous peacemaker and she risked her life to feed the hungry. We would like to thank Fr Stephen from St Elizabeth of Portugal Church for saying Mass for us and to Y4 for preparing the readings and prayers. It was particularly special to see the children who have made their First Holy Communion this year join us in their First Holy Communion outfits on this day.

The children in all classes also thoroughly enjoyed performing their class songs in our St Elizabeth’s Feast Day concert. We hope to make this an annual event from now on.

Schola Concert at St Winefride’s Kew

On Monday evening our Schola choir performed at Our Lady of Loreto and St Winefride’s Church in Kew in front of an audience of parents and parishioners. Their singing sounded amazing in the acoustics of the church and this event raised £500 towards our new Food Technology Room which is planned for installation over the summer holiday.

Y4 Battle of the Books

Well done to the Y4 Battle of the Books team who competed in the competition on Wednesday. They showed an impressive knowledge of the books in the quiz, art and drama work.

Sports News!

On Wednesday, a group of children from Y5 represented St Elizabeth's at a cricket festival hosted by Harrodian School. The team played against other local primary schools and were fantastic ambassadors for the school. They batted, bowled and fielded well and showed excellent team spirit throughout the day. We are very grateful to the parents who helped transport the children to this event.

Next week ...
