Weekly Update 14th July 2023

Read our newsletter to find out what has been happening in school this week and upcoming events ...

Dear Parents and Carers,

‘Singin’ in the Rain’ JR

This week the Y6 production of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ JR has been a real highlight! It was a fantastic production and every child played their part with such enthusiasm. Their enjoyment shone through so clearly on both nights! Congratulations to everyone involved in making the performance such a success and huge thanks to our wonderful team of parent volunteers for giving up their time and talents so generously.

Thank you to our staff team for all their hard work, our Y6 classteachers, Miss Thomas and Mr Askin, and Mrs FitzGerald, our musical director.

Thank you too for your kind donations at the end of the productions. We will share with you how much we raised in next week’s update.

PTA BBQ

We are looking forward to the PTA BBQ this evening from 6pm to 8pm. The rain won’t stop the fun!

When you arrive please enter through the main school entrance and come into the hall where the entertainment will take place. BBQ food will be available under cover at the back of the hall. We are not planning to use the KS1 playground in the rain.

This is a good time to thank our PTA committee, Liza Maxwell, our PTA chair and all the class reps and parent volunteers for all their hard work this year. The funds raised from the events held over the year are going towards our brand new Food and Technology room which is due for completion over the summer holiday. We have a rare opportunity to re-purpose a classroom which is no longer needed, now that we are returning to a fully single form school. This will give us a designated space to teach whole class cookery and Design and Technology lessons for children in all classes, and will also be used for before and after school clubs and events. The Food and Technology room will also be part funded by parent donations from our School Fund, so again thank you very much for your continued support.

Parent Survey

As we approach the end of the school year, we are inviting parents to complete the annual parent survey. The link to the survey is https://forms.gle/G5JYBSU2rrnewCgK9

If you have more than one child at the school, please do complete a form for each child.

We appreciate that this is a very busy time of year, but all responses to the survey are gratefully received and help us in our ongoing school development.
