Dear Parents and Carers,

It was lovely to see you at Parents’ Evenings this week. We hope you found the meetings useful and enjoyed seeing your child’s work.

Y6 Remembrance Assembly

Today our Y6 class led an assembly on Remembrance. The children explained why we wear poppies and also shared the research that they had carried out into their own relatives’ service during the First and Second World War. It was very moving to hear accounts of their family members’ bravery across a wide range of countries, reminding us of the global impact of the wars. The assembly ended with Matthew playing ‘The Last Post’ on a bugle and most importantly, prayers for peace and an end to current conflict. This is always a very special assembly and we would like to thank the Y6 children and staff team for leading this so beautifully.

Vocal Concert

The vocal concert which took place on Wednesday evening was a real highlight of the week! All of our three choirs performed in front of a full hall of parents, and there were around twenty individual or group performances by children from Y1 to Y6. As always, the talent on show was impressive and the children’s confidence in singing is amazing. Thank you to Mrs FitzGerald for organising the concert and accompanying the children on the piano. Well done everyone!
